Negotiations
Process

What to expect during the negotiations, including key dates.

The goal is to find solutions that are acceptable to our hourly employees and position AdvanSix for long-term success. We expect to have a constructive dialogue about our employees’ needs, the future of the plant and how best to position it for business success, efficiency and sustainability.

As in the past, we are confident that we can achieve a contract that both employees and the company can support, and accomplish this the right way – professionally, and with transparency and integrity.

Once a tentative agreement is reached by the negotiation teams, that tentative agreement must be ratified through a vote of employees. It’s important for every employee to have a say in their next contract, so voting on the proposed contract is very important.

If an agreement is not reached by the negotiations teams or not ratified by employee vote, there are many different possibilities that may happen; however, typically one of the following occurs:
  • The parties continue to negotiate, and employees continue to work under the expired collective bargaining agreement (CBA);
  • The parties agree to extend the CBA for a specified time while they continue to negotiate;
  • Some form of work stoppage takes place, either as a result of action by the company (a lockout) or the union (a strike).

Our goal is to achieve a contract that both our employees and the company can support. And, we’ll approach this the right way – professionally, and with transparency and integrity.
